Esmerelda

It's amazing what turns up on my doorstep.

This is Esmerelda Weatherwax Mason, or Esme for short. She is around seven weeks old, and joined me here on Saturday the 19th of May 2007. She is already quite at home, and so far has managed to destroy my PC speakers.

I am writing this on Sunday the 20th of May, 2007. Quick work, Esme.

A kitten as cute as this, though, is allowed to wreak a certain amount of havoc.

Um. Young Esme is growing at a quite alarming rate. My best guess is that she has doubled in weight in the three weeks she's been here. If this trend keeps up she'll be a leopard by Christmas.

Cat squash!

Place cat in bath. Throw in small bouncy balls. Sit back and relax for an hour while cat goes wild in bath.

When cats attack...

What's that on the screen? Is that another cat? Hey, she looks just like me!

Can I type too?

I meant to do this.

No, really, I did.

OK, fine. Now get me out of here!

No, I want the camera now!

Today, I have learned a very important lesson about playing on the edge of the bath.

After experiencing a few months of Esme's boundless energy and enthusiasm, I decided that it would be a good idea to get another cat for her to play with. The result was the arrival of Greebo from a local animal shelter. Greebo is probably a very large cat, but there is a possibility that he's actually quite a small tiger:

YOUR chair? No, I don't think so...

Oh look! A big stripy cushion!

Dog owners don't have this problem.

So? I'm on the curtain rail; you're going to do what, exactly?

Oh, and did you turn on the red-eye reduction?

Who's Garfield?

We can be nice when we want to...

Where are they all coming from??

Say hallo to Luna.

Disgusting...
